Our Review of Pan Bendito Bakehouse
Pan Bendito is the kind of bakery you wish existed in every neighbourhood. It's tucked away in Centro Comercial Guadalmina Alta, and the sourdough here is genuinely some of the best bread we've had on the coast. The head baker worked in Michelin-star kitchens, and it shows — everything is naturally fermented using a 15-year-old sourdough starter they've named Juliette. No artificial yeast, no refined sugar, no preservatives. Just proper bread.
The country sourdough is the star, but the croissants are excellent too — flaky, buttery, and made with real French butter. The cinnamon rolls and Basque cheesecake are worth the trip on their own. Beyond the baked goods, they stock raw milk, a small selection of organic produce, quality olive oils and gourmet pantry items. It's become one of our regular weekend stops for bread and a few staples.
The space is beautifully designed — terracotta tiles, whitewashed walls, copper pendant lights and a viewing window into the bakery where you can watch the bread being made. There's a small area to sit and have a coffee with your pastry, but it's primarily a retail bakery rather than a cafe.
💡 Tip
It's in Centro Comercial Guadalmina Alta, behind El Asador. Parking is free and easy in the commercial centre. Open Monday to Saturday, 8:30am to 8pm — closed Sundays. They also deliver locally for orders over €39.75.
