Our Review of Gym Junkie Cafe
Gym Junkie is one of those places that works for the whole family without anyone having to compromise. It sits on the San Pedro boulevard — the beachside strip along Avenida del Mar Mediterráneo — and the big draw for us is the playground directly across the street. You can grab a table on the terrace, order your food, and let the kids burn off energy on the swings while you wait. It's a setup that just works.
The menu is healthy without being boring. The kids actually enjoy the food here — protein pancakes loaded with fruit are always a hit, and the smoothie bowls go down well too. For the grown-ups there are wraps, salads, grilled chicken dishes and a solid range of fresh juices and protein shakes. Everything is made with natural ingredients and they cater well to gluten-free and vegan diets. Prices are reasonable for what you get.
The staff are friendly and the indoor space is clean and bright, though it's not huge — the terrace is where you want to be on a nice day. It started as Marbella's first protein cafe so it does attract the gym crowd, but don't let that put you off. It's a relaxed, welcoming spot for families too.
💡 Tip
The playground across the street is the real bonus here — grab a terrace table with a clear view and you can keep an eye on the kids while you eat. Street parking is available along the boulevard. They close relatively early (6pm weekdays, earlier on weekends) so it's a breakfast or lunch spot only.
Service can be a bit slow when they're busy with delivery orders, so don't leave it too tight if you're on a schedule.
