Our Review of Cheat (Puente Romano)

Same great Cheat burgers, but poolside at one of the most beautiful resorts on the coast. The Puente Romano version sits right next to the pool surrounded by tropical gardens, and the vibes are of course amazing. There's something special about eating a properly good burger by the pool with palm trees overhead and La Concha in the background.

The menu is an upgraded version of the original — you still get the Cheater Burger, crispy chicken and loaded fries, but there's also Wagyu burgers, lobster salad, crab cakes and craft cocktails including spiked milkshakes. The breakfast menu with lemon ricotta pancakes and smashed avocado on protein bread is worth knowing about too. Food quality is spot on.

The catch, naturally, is the price. This is Puente Romano, so eating here comes at a premium — expect to pay roughly double what you'd spend at the Nueva Andalucía original. But if you're spending the day at the resort or fancy a treat, the setting justifies it. Kids can swim while you eat, and the casual burger format means nobody's stressing about table manners.

💡 Tip

Inside Puente Romano Beach Resort on the Golden Mile. Open daily 10am to 6pm. Complimentary parking for restaurant guests at the resort. Note: the resort grounds have steps and hills, so it's not the easiest with a buggy. Open to non-hotel guests too — no need to be staying there.

The same comfort food you love from Cheat, just with a luxury setting and a luxury price tag to match.
